Bioscience school for Whitehead - January 2010
Prestigious project for Cardiff University.
Cardiff University has awarded Whitehead the contract to build the School of Biosciences South Podium Deck Extension project. This prestigious scheme provides new facilities for the School of Biosciences.
The project includes the creation of a two storey extension over the existing South Podium Deck to house a new reception area, offices, meeting rooms, a large seminar room and new catering facility.
The whole project will be established to the best modern standards with suitable attention to heat loads and air filtration to promote a truly interactive environment. Whitehead is working with consulting engineer Howard Doolan on the scheme, due for completion in September 2010.
This project is part of the Campus Horizons Investment Strategy to transform the working environment throughout the University estate.
Rhys Morton, Managing Director of Whitehead, said: “We’re delighted to be awarded the project and to have the opportunity to work with Cardiff University. It’s an exciting project to be delivering for the University and will result in a landmark building on the campus.”
