This new building, providing 1182 student bedrooms, is set within the landscape of Exeter’s stunning university campus. The architect specified it to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards, incorporating sustainable materials and including a combined heat and power (CHP) system.
We were brought in to install a sophisticated £13m MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) package that had at its heart a central plant incorporating the CHP system. All appliances are A or A+ rated and the fittings are low energy.
The accommodation was shortlisted for Project of the Year at the Construction News Awards 2022. And it’s undoubtedly a winner when it comes to sustainable living – a key factor in enhancing student wellbeing.
