The Quayside refurbishment in Bristol transformed three dated office buildings into an attractive, low carbon community.

Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) bought the properties in 2019 – Quayside answered the call for sustainable and productive working.

The first building completed earlier this year (2024) and team Whitehead provided all MEP services. A Net Zero project, the build is set to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.

With sustainability at the core, a life cycle carbon assessment (LCA) was undertaken at the feasibility and early design stages. CLT floor slabs and timber composite windows were significant decisions made to reduce embodied carbon, while upgraded heating, lighting, and mixed-mode ventilation systems ( all part of our MEP work) all contribute to lower operational carbon.
