On Friday 30th May we traded our office attire for team jerseys for an unforgettable day of football in aid of The Lighthouse Charity. This was our second year hosting the event at Powerleague, Cardiff, and a fantastic 14 teams took part, from our supply chain to clients and other stakeholders, raising over £3,000 for this amazing charity.
It was a wonderful day filled with friendly competition and great sportsmanship, and this paired with the fact the sun was shining all day, kept spirts high for everyone attending the event -players and spectators alike.
It was incredible to see how a community comes together to support a brilliant cause. Even those working behind the scenes and off the pitch put in a lot of hard work to make the day possible… We would like to extend a huge thank you to all who took part, everyone was on top of their game. A special congratulations must go to Protectorcomms (pictured in black shirts) who successfully defended their title win from last year and to SIS (pictured in green shirts), our runners up.
Ceryn Turner from The Lighthouse charity (Pictured below second from the right) said “Without the support of fundraising events like the 5-a-side football tournament hosted by Whitehead, we simply wouldn’t be able to reach as many people as we do. Thanks to this kind of generosity, we were able to support 5,695 families last year alone—providing vital help not just to individuals within the industry, but also to their family members and dependents.” From everyone at Whitehead we could not be more honored to support such a great charity and we are looking forward to doing more to raise money to support it in the future.
