Here at Whitehead we are really proud of our team of 6 who completed the Cardiff Half marathon yesterday – check out their results below!
We’re also super proud of all our supporters, as we managed to exceed our fundraising target and have been named as in the top 10% of fundraising pages on Just Giving in the past month! Thanks to EVERYONE who supported us, both with training and with donations. We’re really honoured to have been able to raise money for Llamau, such a worthy cause.
With Gift Aid, the total amount we raised amounted to a massive £1,866.72. If you put that into that context of our support for Llamau, it is the equivalent of providing 62 counselling sessions to young people processing the trauma of their homelessness; or 62 sessions of the “You and Me, Mum” programme, which helps women who have experienced domestic abuse to understand the impact of the abuse on them and their children. It also supports women to rebuild positive relationships with their children that may have formerly been strained or under huge pressure.
As a team, Whitehead placed 32nd overall in the Cardiff Half Team Challenge. What’s more, had all our fundraising come in by the cut off (midnight on the day of the half) we may have placed in the top 5 for this too!
For Just Giving, we placed highly too – our Cardiff Half Marathon 2024 page was one of the most successful Just Giving pages last month – out of thousands of fundraisers ,we were in the top 10%!
So we’re really proud of our runners, but we’re equally proud of all our supporters, who helped us achieve these goals!
