The team at Whitehead, Newport recently completed works on the 28th Newport Scout Hut in High Cross, Newport. Providing all necessary labour, cabling and containment free of charge, the team completed new lighting and alarms throughout the site, which is used by Newport Scouts to deliver activities to young people in the area. They also provided power for a new audio-visual (AV) installation. Lighting fixtures and fittings were supplied by Sylvania, the fire alarm devices by Hochiki and the fire alarm commissioning by Ceaton.
Before:
“As well as the new lighting, which looks fantastic – and the alarm systems – we also carried out an EICR electrical safety check on the remaining circuitry within the building to ensure the existing infrastructure is up to a minimum electrical standard for safety and continued use” explained Chris Barnes, Project Manager at Whitehead.
Scout Leader Damian praised Whitehead for their amazing work and generosity: “A massive thank you to everyone at Whitehead! The lighting looks amazing!”
After:
“We feel this is an important contribution to the local community” commented Whitehead Conscience Coordinator Hayley Morton “We’re very involved in the communities within which we operate, and offering our expertise to a deserving cause like this is completely aligned with who we are as a business”.
“We hope that the young people of High Cross will benefit from the work that we did – not only do they now have better facilities, but safer ones too”.
