Whitehead continues charity work and sponsorships in 2024.

Whitehead Building Services have a long history of supporting the community – whether that be sponsoring local teams and individuals or raising money for charities across a variety of sectors.

This year Whitehead have sponsored a variety of teams across South Wales, Bristol and the Southwest which are the principal areas we operate in. These sponsorships include support within the sports of football, cricket, rugby and cycling. One notable sponsorship is DINGS Crusaders Womens RFC where, over the past season, our sponsorship allowed the team to employ a new head coach which saw the team promoted to Champ 2.

“Sponsorship is a fantastic way to give back to the community” explained Hayley Morton, Conscience Coordinator at Whitehead. “We feel that as a business, being a part of the communities we operate in is really important – and of course it helps to get our name out there too – you may have spotted the Whitehead logo on a training top somewhere!”

In 2024 Whitehead became a company supporter of the Lighthouse Charity, the only UK charity to offer support to those working in the construction industry. As part of this partnership, they run office-based events to support staff and also held, this summer, a charity 5 a side football match which raised £3000 for the charity.

As well as individual smaller team sponsorships, Whitehead are proud headline sponsors of the Tour de Gwent. The Tour de Gwent, which took place on September 15th, supports St. Davids Hospice Care and is the annual cycling event for everyone. Whitehead have been main sponsors of the event since it began in 2015, celebrating its tenth event this year.

Through a longstanding relationship with Prostate Cymru, which has seen Whitehead hold golf events in their name during 2024 and 2023, Whitehead were named their ‘Corporate Fundraiser of the Year’ for 2023.

Team Whitehead also like to take part in sporting events which enable them to raise money for charity – Whitehead recently raised over £1k for St Davids Hospice at the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge and just next week a team will be running the Cardiff Half to raise money for homelessness charity Llamau. If you would like to sponsor them for the next event, the Cardiff Half, please donate here:
